Automotive Production Supervisor - 2nd / 3rd Shift

Kforce's automotive client is looking for an Automotive Production Supervisor for a 3rd shift long-term, renewable contract position in Tonawanda, New York (NY).Responsibilities:
Working as a group leader/production supervisor for Global supply chain (GSC) on 3rd shift
Supporting supply chain and working with incoming materials
Supervised 15-40 direct reports (hourly/UAW)
Delivering parts to certain areas of the plant
Shipping and receiving
Measurables are in place to ensure the line is always fully stocked with parts
Learning the Union policies, how to hold them accountable, working through any performance issues with UAW employees
Employee management
Work compliantly within Union contracts
Typical Day:
Arriving around 11:00 PM; Meet with the 2nd shift leaders to do a -carry over meeting- get a state of the business to get an update on how the shift performed for the day
Tracking materials through the internal systems
Working through issues (tracks that are not arriving on time, reallocating materials they have onsite to get it down the line)
Communication
On your feet all day long, fast moving
Bachelor's degree in a Technical field (Engineering or Engineering Technology)
1 year of prior management experience supervising a team of 5
Manufacturing experience (Union or non-union, Union is preferred)
Technical aptitude, EX: A candidate should be able to determine if a machine goes down, if this is an electrical problem, mechanical, etc. and determine who to notify

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
