Praxair currently has an opening for a Web Application Developer to join our Global Information Technology Services organization. This position can be based in Danbury, CT, Tonawanda, NY or Globally for Praxair employees. As a member of Praxair's IT Collaboration Support Center team, this role will design and implement web-based solutions for a global end user base. This includes development for Praxair's intranet and extranet sites. You will collaborate with clients and/or colleagues to identify application requirements and recommend solution options. You will participate in full life-cycle duties including development, testing, documentation, deployment and application support. Successful candidates are able to work with occasional supervision, are excellent communicators and have a passion for technology.
Position
Responsibilities:
Perform web development tasks utilizing .NET Framework and C# programming language
Build, design and implement solutions for our corporate and regional intranet and extranet sites
Design and evolve highly interactive user interfaces and prototypes for our internal websites
Develop mobile applications and integrate with internal systems
Guide projects to a successful completion (on-time and within budget) through good communication and time management
Work as part of a team fostering teamwork, mentorship, and striving for overall excellence
Stay current on web technology innovations and trends
Apply in-depth professional knowledge to define solutions and recommend best practices
Provide subject matter expertise to IT management
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field of study is preferred.
Experience Required:
Minimum 6 years development experience with custom web application development, using C# and ASP .NET technology
Strong technical knowledge within the Microsoft tools and platform
Prior experience working on global projects
SharePoint 2010 / 2013 / 2016 application development and solution deployment preferred
Office 365 / SharePoint Online experience preferred
Must be able to act as a technical lead and mentor for other developers
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, relational database tools and stored procedures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired:
WebTrends, Google Analytics
Nintex workflow and forms development, InfoPath
HTML5, jQuery, Bootstrap
Content Management Systems, such as Sitecore
Converting Lotus Notes databases to SharePoint sites
Data integration techniques with Oracle
Knowledge about developing browser-based applications for multiple environments (web clients, smart phones, tablets, etc)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
