This role requires extensive experience with MRP, Lean tools including but not limited to finite scheduling, pull systems, visual factory, 5S.
In this role the individual will have the Master Planner and other material handlers reporting to them.
This position reports directly to HDM's General Manager but will have a very close working relationship with the Plant Manager to ensure valid scheduling is always in place.
General Accountabilities Lead Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) to ensure customer deliveries can be accomplished with current and future plant capacity.
Lead the overall 5S and visual factory implementation for the plant from a materials / inventory perspective.
Establish, maintain finite scheduling approach for work centers.
Establish, maintain, and improve pull system for runners and some repeaters where appropriate.
Establish, implement and improve daily reschedule process when necessary so plant is working on parts needed to complete orders.
Create standard work for inventory management and control.
Lead cycle counting process with goal of eliminating year end physical inventory.
Develop daily standard work for Master Planner and Material Handlers.
Ensure revised shipment dates are supplied to Customer Experience Manager daily.
Establish and execute escalation process to General Manager for items that the organization cannot address.
Lead process improvement efforts associated with materials.
Participate in process improvement efforts for the plant.
Lead inventory control efforts.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead people through challenging environment.
Excellent project management skills Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
Self-starter.
Needs little direction.
Willing to get hands dirty, not just a leader / manager.
Lean certification and demonstrated lean implementation efforts.
ERP knowledge and use.
