com What We Are Looking For The Safety Manager is responsible for leading the organization in developing proactive policies, practices, and procedures, allowing us to achieve the highest standards of safety and provide a safe work environment for NOCO employees.
The position implements and coordinates safety programs required for compliance with OSHA regulatory requirements and company safety policies.
A key element of the role is to assist with the training of employees and to help identify safety hazards and apply corrective action to eliminate risks.
What You Will Do Function in a consulting role as the company's resident safety expert, coordinating with supervisors and site managers to proactively identify safety issues, collaborate on the development of solutions; ensure implementation and monitor results.
Develop and administer safety policies, programs, practices and procedures companywide, ensuring that the company and its divisions are fully compliant with all relevant safety regulations.
Lead the company's interface with safety regulatory bodies, including OSHA and with professional safety organizations and develop positive, collaborative working relationships with key individuals in these organizations.
Using a variety of methods, including surveys of safety literature, networking with other professionals, utilizing our vendor resources, stay up-to-date on workplace safety trends with a focus on employee safety.
Provide input to the leadership team on safety-related performance for all personnel in their reporting lines.
Conduct on-site investigations of accidents, incidents and injuries, including root cause analyses; document investigations as required and ensure that corrective measures are implemented.
Provide safety-training services for NOCO employees and employees.
This includes formal training programs as well as ad hoc programs implemented in response to current needs identified at sites.
Ensure all employees have completed required safety training upon hire and annually in the learning management system (LMS) or other method by required dates.
Coordinate and oversee safety committees.
Visit all NOCO sites to conduct safety inspections, audits; review findings with staff present at the site, prepare written record of findings and review any extraordinary findings with the management team.
Manage the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) in each location to ensure all employees are aware and understand what to do in the event of an emergency.
Function as the point person if a location encounters an emergency.
Coordinate with managers and supervisors on the development and implementation of site-specific safety plans.
Ensure that safety-related paperwork is completed accurately and on a timely basis, disseminated as required and maintained in secure and easily accessible format for future reference.
Work closely with HR team on workers compensation claims and return to work program.
Manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Maintain OSHA 300 Log submit annual OSHA reports.
Promotes a culture focused on safety and continuous improvement.

What You Will Need Bachelor degree in Occupational Safety or closely related field At least five years closely related work experience In the event that either education or experience qualifications are not fully met, an equivalent combination of the two will be considered Excellent verbal communication skills both one-on-one and in speaking before a group; strong written communication skills are also required with the ability to independently compose clear reports and directive communications to staff Excellent problem solving skills; the ability to view a situation from multiple angles, collaboratively brainstorm on solutions and identify the best course to move forward Strong decision making skills and the demonstrated ability to take appropriate decisive action, sometimes in the absence of full information Approachability - an open mind and welcoming atmosphere and patience so that employees are comfortable in seeking help/guidance in regard to safety issues An uncompromised ability to keep information confidential Commitment to integrity and ethical behavior Competence in common computer applications including MS Office and Internet Quick Apply.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
